The beginning of November is abound with artistic events featuring Hamlet Lavastida. On November 3, 2023 one can enjoy the art in three places in the world that we recommend.
Hamlet Lavastida is one of the artists whose works will be featured in the exhibition “Revolutionary Romances. Global Art Historíes in the GDR” in Albertinum, Dresden.
The exhibition focuses on “the friendly revolutionary relations” – that were carried on by the German Democratic Republic (GDR) with countries of the Global South. It thus takes a closer look at the little-studied subject of East German art in the context of global, transcultural art histories.
The exhibition will be open from November 4 to June 6, 2024.

On the same day, Hamlet’s work will be presented in the exhibition: See you at the Studio! Ten years with Artists in residence, organized by KfW Stiftung and Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, that presents the versatility of the artists that participated in their international artist residency program during last 10 years.
Open: 3.11 – 17.12.2023
The third opening takes place in Contemporary Art Space in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The exhibition Giro Gráfico. Rumores y clamores is a long process of collective research carried out by the Red de Conceptualismos del Sur in collaboration with the Museo Reina Sofía. It puts in dialogue forms of graphic action of the present from different parts of Latin America and the black, Latino and indigenous movements in the United States.
