Juan Miguel Pozo is among artists who participate in a collective exhibition “Dix und die gegenwart” [Dix and the present] dedicated to Otto Dix (1891–1969) and his influence on contemporary art.
Otto Dix was a German painter and printmaker, known for his adamant and harshly realistic depictions of German society and the brutality of war. He said:
‘You have to have seen human beings in this unleashed state to know what human nature is.’
The exhibition is presented by The Deichtorhallen Hamburg (Germany) and will focus on the artistic effects of political censorship, adaptation and political iconography with reference to contemporary art.
The exhibition is open from September 30, 2023 until February 25, 2024 in the Deichtorhallen Hall for Contemporary Art in Hamburg.
